If you missed our recent Plant Sale and Healthy Living Community Day (see below), you'll be pleased to know that there are another few opportunities to see the beautiful Share Garden during June. This month we are taking part in Open Garden Squares Weekend, and will once again be holding our Summer Garden Party and Evening in the Garden events, so please do join us if you can.
Sunday 18th June 2017, from 10am to 5pm. The Share Garden Open for Open Garden Squares Weekend. This year, we are a 'hidden gem' garden, which means if you visit the Share Garden as well as three other hidden gem gardens to collect a secret word from each
garden, you have a chance to win afternoon tea at Duck Island Cottage in St James's Park. Plus Andrea Robinson, our very own Poet in Residence, will be in the Share Garden throughout the day sharing words and stories with all our guests.
Tuesday 20th June 2017, from 11.30am to 3pm. Share's Summer Garden Party. The Tooting Business Network is once again hosting Share's Summer Garden Party this year in association with the Khalsa Centre in Tooting. With fun and games, music and dance, this event is an opportunity for our students, their family and
friends, as well as our partners and supporters in the community to enjoy and relax in the beautiful Share Garden. And, of course, our great summer raffle with some super prizes to be won! Register for Share's Summer Garden Party
Thursday 22nd June 2017, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Share's Evening in the Garden. With drinks and canapés from Share Catering. A fundraising and networking evening for the local community and an opportunity for us to say thank you to all those who help to make Share
simply amazing. Register for Share's Evening in the Garden
To register for any of these events, visit Share's website. The Share Garden is based in the grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting. More information on how to find the Share Garden is available on Share's website.
Funding from the Garfield Weston Foundation
We are delighted to have been awarded £25,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation towards core costs to help us enhance all our services for Share students. This award will give us scope to develop our independent living skills programme, helping us to incorporate more community-based learning within our work. Huge thanks to the Foundation for
helping us to continue to make a difference in the lives of our students.
Community fun day – plants galore, healthy living and yummy treats!
Wow! What a fun day! It was wonderful to see so many of our community – neighbours, friends and supporters – from in and around Wandsworth at our Plant Sale and Healthy Living Community Day on 20th May.
With polytunnels and greenhouses brimming with plants for sale, lots of healthy living activities to try, and delicious treats from the Share Catering pop-up café to keep everyone going, there was a little something for everyone.
Huge thanks to everyone who who made our day special – with particular thanks to Janet Evans, Movement Works, Jonathan Clark, Bikeworks and Wheels for Wellbeing, Disability Sports Coach (DSC) and Treblemakers who all gave up their time to support Share – as well as all the local businesses and the Wimbledon Foundation who donated prizes for our tombola prize draw.
The day raised over £2000 which will be used to develop our healthy living project, to help more of our students to live happy, healthy lives by eating well and exercising more.
